Streamline School Profile
What is the Streamline School? The following weekend school is dedicated to furthering the interest of each student in the subjects of their taste — Math, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, English Language and Literature. During each lesson, our highly certified staff prepares small-sized classes for the SAT–I and SAT-II exams, necessary for admission to all colleges and universities, as well as other school tests such as the Math-A Test, Regents and Citywide Tests. Also, there exists a preparatory class for the Sci-Hi test, which determines admission for three selective New York High Schools: Brooklyn Tech, Bronx Science, and Stuyvesant High Schools. When and why was the Streamline School created? The Streamline School opened in 1997 with the mission of elevating academic participation of our students: to awaken their creative pursuits, to engage their intellect with challenges, to teach the value of analytical thought, and most importantly, to extend the classroom setting to a voluntary process of learning. It is not inappropriate then, that the school bears the title Streamline, which characteristically "flows, striving ahead." Our students fulfill the exact same role—they flow in the academic waters, always ahead to success! Tutoring our students either on weekends or during after-school hours, our institution enhances knowledge and work ethic to standards of universal might.
Who runs the Streamline School? The school is directed by Rachel Kaminsky who maintains a degree of Ph.D in Mathematical and Physical Sciences, and the author of several publications, among which is a mathematical workbook for high school students and a guidebook entitled "How to get the Highest Education in America." Who is the staff at the Streamline School? All classes are taught in English by highly-trained specialists in the field of their study, (professors and adjuncts) with experience in American educational system
Do Streamline School students participate in math contests around the country? Annually, our school produces and officially sponsors a citywide mathematical Olympic. The winners of this competition proceed to participate in statewide and national competitions. We regularly encourage and inform our students of the available opportunities for their involvement, and do our best to prepare them for these competitions. Is it important to participate in these Olympics? Those who do not win these competitions still benefit extremely from their mere participation in such events. All colleges and universities look highly upon such participants, and often offer scholarships for students with such involved extra-curricular records. The winners of these competitions often receive monetary rewards and certificates of their accomplishment.

Is the Streamline School connected with national programs for students? The Streamline School is a member of an organization of schools, which partakes in summer programs under the guidance of John Hopkins University and Boston University. Also, the school is a member of the New York City Math League, and is a collective participant in various programs for young adults at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Lincoln Center. The students of our school regularly attend concerts and art exhibits. In November of this year, the school is going to provide a sponsored trips to the United States Space& Rocket Center in Alabama, and Brookhaven National Laboratory at Stony Brook, NY. Does the Streamline School offer preparation for school and university tests? Yes, we arrange preparatory classes for the SAT and SAT-II exams, necessary for admission to all colleges and universities, as well as other school tests such as the Math-A, Regents, and Citywide Tests. There is also a class for the Sci-Hi test, which determines admission for three Science New York High Schools: Stuyvesant, Brooklyn-Tech, Bronx Science High Schools. Lastly, there is a special preparatory class for the Mark Twain Exam, another admission exam to the prestigious and exclusive Junior High Schools. It must be noted that not only our program for test preparation but also a continuous and deep study of the subjects in question creates the foundation for a successful scoring on these exams.
Which subjects may be studies at the Streamline School? Depending on the students’ individual inclination and desire, the following subjects may be thoroughly studied: Math, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, English Language and Literature. Students can enroll only in the subjects of their choice. In the last academic year: 20 out of 28 students scored 2280-2350 on the SAT , and 2 students received a score of 2370.
35 out of 42 eight-graders were granted admission to Stuyvesant High Schools.
21 out of 30 fifth-graders were granted admission to selective Junior High Schools.
Which lesson plans are applied at the Streamline School? In our lesson plans we rely on the experience of the best Russian and American schools. It is well known that the Russian school of mathematical training is fortuitous in its discipline. As such, for our mathematics classes, we use the translation of a textbook, which was in use by the best institutions of Russia. We extract problems from the ever-popular American-published magazine "Quantum" and solve them with our students. The programs for our Biology and Chemistry classes were especially designed at Columbia University. Who may attend the Streamline School? We welcome students from 1st-12th grades.

Where is the Streamline School located? The branches of the school are conveniently located in Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island.
